SONIC Natural and L.P. Gas Engine Oil

(View MSDS)

DESCRIPTION

SONIC Natural and L.P. Gas Engine Oils for stationery natural gas fueled engines are tailored to meet the fuel requirement, while producing the minimum amount sulfated ash (or piston deposits). The industry concern about ash relates to the steady-long operation mode which can cause permanent ash buildup in the combustion chamber and Ring Belt area. SONIC Natural Gas L.P. Gas Engine Oil technology is used to approximately 20% of all stationery gas engines in use in North America today.

Note: Natural and L.P. Gas Engine Oil does not meet the specification for modern mobile gasoline engines that are converted to L.P. or Natural Gas fuel. For these engines, the owner’s manual should be consulted to ensure that qualified oils are used. Most engines will use SONIC Master Blend, or SONIC D-MO.

APPLICATIONS

SONIC Natural and L.P. Gas Engine Oil is recommended for use in natural or L.P. gas engines requiring a low ash oil. Low ash engine oils are the most common recommended oil in the industry. It is particularly suitable for use in Dresser-Rand (CAT I, II, and III), Clark, Ingersoll-Rand, Cooper-Bessemer, Cooper-Superior, Caterpiller (Series 3300, 3400, and 3500 engine), and Waukesha engines. Because of its low levels of both zinc and phosphorus, it is suitable for use in engines equipped with catalytic converters.

PERFORMANCE FEATURES

SONIC Natural and L.P. Gas Engine Oil provides these features:

  1. High oxidation stability preventing oil thickening problems.
  2. Reduces pre-ignition.
  3. Reduces combustion chamber deposits.
  4. Good performance in Bearing Corrosion Tests.
  5. Technology is field tested in thousands of stationery gas engines in North America (approximately 20% of North American market).
